So I’m back in the wilderness with AmeriCorps. Montana is a vastly different ecosystem than the Tropics in Saint Lucia. It’s been awesome to socialize and meet so many new people interested in the outdoors. I’m hoping that my time here will afford me the opportunity to share some history and experience on historically Native land and cultures, but also some of the management things i get to learn along the way. I’ll be doing Wildland Restoration which will be dealing with managing invasive plants in several ways but predominantly hack and spray due to time and resource restraints. It’s kind of interesting that both here and Saint Lucia have high cost of living but wildly different social and cultural differences. Montana is growing at a rate that they haven’t necessarily prepared for and that leads to building decisions that affect both human and wildlife. Should be a great time once we make it through winter 😂
